The Corporate Manslaughter Bill and Corporate Homicide Act 2007 came into force on 6th April 2008 and now companies / employers if found guilty can be prosecuted under this act as a result of company failures.
Under Health and safety requirements employers and the self-employed are to ensure as reasonably practicable the health, safety and welfare of all their employees.
