The Corporate Manslaughter Bill and Corporate Homicide Act 2007 came into force on 6th April 2008 and now companies / employers if found guilty can be prosecuted under this act as a result of company failures.
Under Health and safety requirements employers and the self-employed are to ensure as reasonably practicable the health, safety and welfare of all their employees. This is to protect the company the employees and to safeguard all others who may be put at risk from their work activities which now includes driving for work-related activities.
